Price Chiropractic's examination is usually more thorough and comprehensive than most medical exams. It includes:

  • Intake form with full history (including medications, allergies, surgical Hx, accident/injury Hx, exercise status, sleeping habits, alcohol/smoking habits, and work Hx
  • Go over specific condition(s) in detail
  • Vitals (including BP, temp, height, weight, and BMI)
  • Range of motion
  • Neurological evaluation (including sensory, reflexes, and muscle strength. Also, cranial nerve & pathologic reflex testing if needed)
  • Orthopedic assessment (specific tests)
  • Posture assessment and palpation of affected area
  • Radiographs, MRI, and/or blood work (if needed)

A diagnosis is then made, which is similar to any diagnosis that a M.D. or P.T. makes. Sometimes we are restricted by insurances:

  • Medicare requires a “739 subluxation” code and a 2nd symptom code. (ie. Cervicalgia, lumbalgia)
  • Medicaid only takes “839 vertebra and 722 IVD” codes with no dots.
  • Some commercial insurance want everything related to the spine
