Have you ever wondered what type of education or credentials your massage therapist has had? When you pick a massage therapist, does their education or licensure have any impact on your decision? In the state of Wisconsin, there are certain requirements that a licensed massage therapist must complete before being credentialed.
1. Must have at least 600 hours of education at a WI approved massage school.
2. Must pass the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork exam.
3. Must pass the WI State Regulations and Laws exam.
4. Be CPR Certified.
5. Must carry current liability insurance.
Of course, all the credentials in the world don’t necessarily mean that the massage therapist gives a great massage; however, it’s a great place to start when trying to find someone that you are happy with.
